Property Tax Rent Rebate Applicants Can Check Application
Status Online
HARRISBURG -- Pennsylvania residents can now check the status of Property
Tax/Rent Rebate program applications online at
www.papropertytaxrelief.com,
according to Sen. Richard Alloway II (R-33).
Sen. Alloway said the Department of Revenue hosts the new website to provide
information on claim status, rebate amount and the date a rebate is expected to
be mailed or direct-deposited. Six weeks after a resident has submitted a
Property Tax/Rent Rebate application, he or she may check claim status by
visiting the site and entering the following information:
- Social Security number
- Anticipated rebate amount
- Date of birth
Alloway said the department will begin distributing checks on July 1, 2009,
but applicants can use the online feature as soon as six weeks after an
application is submitted.
"The Property Tax/Rent Rebate program provides an important benefit for
seniors living on a fixed income, and this new website should serve as a
valuable resource to ensure seniors receive their rebates in a timely manner,"
Alloway said.
The Property Tax Rent Rebate Program provides property tax relief and rent
rebates of up to $500 to many low-income senior citizens.
