Alloway Applauds Statewide Workforce Training Program

HARRISBURG – Senator Richard Alloway II (R-33) today applauded the 10th anniversary of the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA).

WEDnetPA offers free training in basic skills and information technology for businesses located in Pennsylvania or out-of-state companies that are relocating to the state. The program has helped train more than 80,000 employees in 14,000 businesses.

"It is essential for Pennsylvania's workers to continue to receive the training they need to remain competitive in the global marketplace, and I am thankful for the contributions of WEDnetPA in helping businesses remain strong and successful," Alloway said.

The program is offered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Additional information on the program is available at www.wednetpa.com.
