Video of Scotland School Hearing Available Online at SenatorAlloway.com

HARRISBURG – The Senate and House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee joint hearing on the proposed closing of the Scotland School for Veterans' Children will be streamed live online Wednesday, according to Senator Richard Alloway II (R-33).

The live video feed will be available on Alloway's website, senatoralloway.com. In addition to the live video feed, video and audio links of the entire hearing will be available online shortly after the hearing for those who are unable to watch it live.

The hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Hearing Room 1 of the North Office Building in Harrisburg.

"Many interested individuals won't be able to make the trip to Harrisburg to attend the hearing due to work or other obligations," Alloway said. "The video feed will give interested parties an opportunity to view the hearing from the comfort of their own home."

Alloway also invited the public to visit the website after the hearing to provide input on the proposed closure of the school.

"The Scotland School has been a mainstay in our community for more than a century, and I've spoken with a number of district residents who are deeply disappointed that the school has been targeted for elimination in the governor's proposed budget," Alloway said. "It is important for the public to make their voice heard on this issue, and I strongly encourage district residents to log onto my website to provide their views on the importance of the school to our community."
